Professor Sang M. Lee is currently the University Eminent Scholar, Regents Distinguished University Professor, Executive Director of several research institutes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also served as Professor of Management at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University prior
to coming to the University of Nebraska.
 
Dr. Lee served as President of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and is currently serving as President of the Pan-Pacific Business Association, an international scholarly society of over 4,000 members in 35 countries.  He is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, DSI, and the Pan-Pacific Business Association. He has organized 36 international conferences as the Program Chair. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Service Business: An International Journal.
 
Dr. Lee is an internationally renowned expert in the fields of decision sciences, productivity management, operations innovation, and global strategy. His pioneering work in Goal Programming for Multiple Objective Decision Making has been widely recognized throughout the world. Recently, his research in transitional economies, development of world-class organizations, convergenomics, and open innovation has been widely published. He is the author or co-author of 67 books, including multiple editions. Dr. Lee directed several major global projects, funded by the US State Department, US Agency for International Development, NSF, Soros Foundation, etc., totaling for more than $6 million. He established the first ever MBA and MPA programs in Albania, set up numerous new entrepreneurship centers in Central and Southeast Asia, the Ph. D. program at Bangkok University in Thailand, and many other global collaborative programs. He has visited more than 150 institutions in over 50 countries as a distinguished visiting scholar. He has received numerous honors for his professional work including the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation Leavey Award, Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Award at the University of Nebraska, Distinguished Teaching Award at both Virginia Tech and University of Nebraska. He has supervised more than 130 Ph. D. students throughout his career. He has received four honorary doctorates for his contribution to global business education.
